The Colorado Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (CAND) is a non-profit professional organization representing Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs), Dietetic Technicians, Registered (DTRs) and dietetic students in Colorado. As an affiliate of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), the nation’s largest organization of food and nutrition professionals, CAND and its more than 1,200 members serve the public by promoting optimal nutrition, health and well-being in a variety of settings.
CAND Vision Statement: To Optimize Colorado’s and the nation’s health through food and nutrition.
CAND Mission Statement: To empower, equip, and support members at the state’s recognized leaders in food and nutrition.
Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RD/RDNs) are highly educated and trained health professionals who provide nutrition education and dietetic services. All RD/RDNs have at the minimum a bachelor’s degree, have completed a qualifying internship, passed a national registration examination and complete ongoing continuing education.
