|Opportunity for Leading State of Slim Weight Management Groups The State of Slim weight management program was developed by Drs. James Hill and Holly R. Wyatt at the University of Colorado. This program, based on the book State of Slim, delivers in-person weight management services to groups of 15-20 participants over 16 weeks. There are 16 weekly group meetings led by a trained and certified leader (coach). State of Slim is delivered by the University of Colorado Anschutz Health and Wellness Center and by Shakabuku, LLC, a for-profit company founded by Drs. Hill and Wyatt. We are looking for 5 qualified individuals who are interested in participating in State of Slim training and certification to be group leaders. Training involves attending a SOS course taught by Dr. Wyatt with discussion afterwards. This will require attending 16 sessions of 90 min each over 16 weeks at a location near the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus on Aurora. You will be compensated for attending this training. The training will begin in early March (likely on Monday nights 5:30pm-7pm).
Once training is complete, successful trainees will have the opportunity to teach SOS groups in the Denver Metro area. Certification will be provided after completion of leading two successful groups. We plan to start 3-4 new groups per month in 2017, starting in early March. SOS group leaders are paid per group at levels competitive with similar coaching positions. This is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor of this exciting weight management program.
The State of Slim program has a standardized curriculum and we are looking for individuals who can effectively facilitate the group as they follow this curriculum. Experience with weight management and leading groups is desirable. Willingness to commit and complete training is required. Successful candidates will also be people who are passionate about inspiring people to change. You can request the full job application by sending an email to email@example.com
